An opportunity exists for an experienced Occupational Therapist in the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service, Goulburn Valley (VPRS-GV). VPRS-GV is a specialist assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents who, as a result of injury, medical/surgical intervention or functional impairment, will benefit from a program of developmentally appropriate, time-limited, goal-focused, multidisciplinary rehabilitation.
The Occupational Therapist will work as part of the multidisciplinary VPRS team in providing high quality occupational therapy services to clients of VPRS-GV. Applicants should have relevant paediatric experience, a strong understanding of occupational therapy practice in sub-acute and community settings, and be able to demonstrate the ability to provide a family centered service within a rural health setting.
This is a part time, 12 month maternity leave position, suitable for an established Grade 2 clinician, however a Grade 1 Occupational Therapist (minimum of 2 years clinical experience) seeking to transition to a grade 2 may be considered. Training and support in a range of clinical skills required for the position will be provided to the successful applicant.
Hours of work may be negotiated upon request. For those applicants requiring a full time position, additional Occupational Therapy positions may be available within the organisation. Please contact the Regional Coordinator to discuss.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent qualification, have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and have a current Victorian Drivers license. A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check & Working with Children Check are required prior to commencing employment.
The successful applicant will have well-developed time management and problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision. Applicants should also possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment. A sound knowledge of computer based software applications including Word/Excel/database management systems is also required.
